On the 7th of May 2024, Brandywine reported to the SEC a that it detected an unauthorized access to its IT infrastructure on the 1st of May. The attackers were able to deploy ransomware (“deployment of encryption by a third party to a portion of the Company’s internal corporate IT systems”). They reported that the ransomware prevented their ability to perform “corporate functions, including financial and operating reporting systems.” Brandywine noted that information was exfiltrated but said that their investigation is not complete and they could not determine whether the data contained personal information. They concluded their filing by noting that (subject to the completion of their investigation) they did not believe that the incident “is reasonably likely to materially impact the Company’s financial condition or results of operations.”
